Initially before the works started the council estimated that the works would be completed in spring but in February Warwickshire County Council announced that the completion of the project would be delayed.
At the time the council did not know how long the delay would be but now it has been announced the scheme is not expected to be completed until autumn.
A spokesperson for Warwickshire County Council said: "The Stanks Island Scheme is now expected to be completed in autumn 2020.

"Work has continued through the Covid-19 pandemic, however only where works were not affected by issues with the supply chain.
"Now that the expected impact of the virus has been programmed by the contractor, it is only now that we are able to release an expected construction end date of Autumn 2020."
Here is the latest update from Warwickshire County Council on the work that has taken place:

Birmingham Road North
Works on the embankment have continued and a significant length of the new drainage system has been installed including multiple catchpits. Multiple gullies have been installed and ducting road crossings have also been completed.
Haywood Road
Due to the social distancing guidelines and its effect on the surfacing operations, Haywood continues to remain closed and is being used to store materials. This helps the contractor to mitigate the supply issues again found due to Coronavirus. NAL Sockets for lighting columns are in place ready for signal pole installation and tactile crossings are also being installed.
